1998 GMC Jimmy SLE review from North America
"LEMON"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
This vehicle has been nothing but trouble since day one. Windshield wipers stopped working in the middle of a rain storm. I tried everything to get them to work, traced the power cable, checked fuses etc. Finally discovered that the wiring harness was faulty. Since cleaning the harness they've up and quit working twice. Dealer says nothing wrong... Transmission went out at 110k miles, transmission shop charged over $1500 to replace. The mechanic told me that it was common for the Blazer/Jimmy to have transmission failer... driver side power window stopped working last summer, dealer said it would cost $275 to replace, I found a new motor on ebay for $65 and replaced myself. Now the vehicle just stalls for no apparent reason, took to dealer and they said needs new fuel injection system. Paid over $1200 for the work and guess what... the engin still stalls. This vehicle purchase was the biggest mistake I've ever made, I will never buy another GM product again.
