Yeah, I own a 96 Calibra Turbo 4wd. The transfer case doesn't necessarily "blow up", the oil used in the cases after a while turns into a sludgy-watery mix, which in turns strips all the gearing, therefore ruining any chance of getting AWD. If properly maintained (every 10000kms change the oil, keep your tyres at the same wear pattern/pressure up) it should last a while. Around $2000-$4000 for a new TXB depending on who you go through. But for $4000, you can get an upgraded sports one from Regal Auto Sports in the UK (minus and shipping costs).

Yes the parts are extremely expensive (ironic considering some of the parts {like the steering} are shared from the Holden Camira) but I wouldn't have my Calibra any other way. There's nothing like the feeling of changing into 6th gear on the highway for some damn good fuel economy (I can get around 700kms from the full tank of fuel if using it on the highway).

Leather interior, electric windows/mirrors and sunroof. Quite spacious for a coupe. If you're looking for something different for a sports car and don't mind paying through the roof for parts, go out and get a Calibra, they are instant attention seekers.

I own a 1993 Calibra. I love this car. I have had it for 3yrs now. When I bought it, it only had 91 000 km's on it. From the moment I bought it, it has had problems. Within a month of owning it, the transmission went. Cost $2000 to fix that. The steering rack went as well.. as well as the exhaust.

I put around $8000 over the 3 years into this car. mainly because parts are so expensive because of this I didn't have enough money to buy insurance. I did have it at one point but I just couldn't renew it.

OK.. so here comes the REALLY bad part. Last week a lady ran into me and smashed it up. I have decided to buy a new car. Anyone need parts for their Holden Calibra? Email me: Toolerz4eva@live.com

I think I have bagged out this car enough. I actually do love this car. It's powerful and not too bad with the fuel consumption. It's a hot looking car as well. Amazing interior. Sun roof. Power windows. It's an amazing car. Just make sure you have the money to put into this car.

My young son bought a Holden Calibra. Had his licence a week and the water hose has split. We need to buy a new one, we are finding, parts are hard to find, if anyone knows where to get parts it would be much appreciated (part number 90322911).

It is a nice looking car. Hope some one can help, and we live in Melbourne, Australia.
