2007 Honda Accord EX-L review from North America
"Excellent so far, no buyer's remorse!"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Nothing. The only thing that happened was the first Accord got destroyed in a tornado when it only had 900 miles on the odometer.
The second Accord, an exact replacement, has been exemplary. One thing though; the second car has been getting about 26 MPG as opposed to the 21 MPG with city driving in the first car. I guess the tornado took care of whatever that issue was!!
General comments?
This is my grandmother's new car. She drove a fully loaded Saturn that she bought new in 1994 105,000 pleasurable miles and decided it was time for something fresh with more amenities.
The buying experience was very good. We went to a Toyota dealer to look at Camrys where we were promptly jerked around and treated to a dismal selection. We then drove over to the Honda dealer which had a huge selection and the salesperson did not even come out to talk to us until it was obvious that she had chosen which car she wanted to drive. Also, the salesperson talked to HER instead of me and my dad. They did not try to pitch anything unnecessary, gave her about a $2,000 year-end discount, and private party value for the Saturn instead of trade-in. Also, when the first car got totaled only two months later, they sold her the second one for the same price as the first one! I wish the Honda dealer where I live was as nice!
My grandmother absolutely loves this car. It has everything she wanted: heated leather seats, moonroof, auto climate control, and something she did not know about, but now loves; XM radio. Of course, it was a huge change from the Saturn, an excellent, but not-nearly-as-comfortable car. She also got the 100,000-mile warranty like she did with the Saturn, so no worries!
This car is fun to drive. The four cylinder truly is, like Consumer Reports says, more refined than most V6's. The i-VTEC is so powerful that it's hard to imagine wanting the more expensive V6! These latest Accords are also much quieter inside than the ones in years past.
In typical Honda fashion, everything works in a straight-forward, very logical manner. Also, everything smells, looks, and feels good. I am a loyal BMW driver, but I have a new love for Hondas because of this car.
