2003 Honda Accord EX-L review from North America

"Lemon"

What things have gone wrong with the car?

Since buying my 2003 Honda Accord, I have had NOTHING but problems! It has been 4 months now and I wish I could take it back!!!

First off, I found out the owner prior to me, brought it back and traded it in after only 1 month! The service guy accidentally printed off an invoice from this guy's visit to Honda, thinking it was mine; on it, it said the stereo needed replacement, the locks and doors get stuck and the console was broken! 2 out of 3 of these things we're not repaired before they put it back on the lot for me, 1 month later. Nice.

The day I bought it, I went to put a CD in the CD player and got an error message, I was still in the dealer lot!!! They told me it would be replaced in 2 days; after numerous calls and complaints to Honda Canada, it was finally replaced after 4 weeks.

Noticed within 2 days of buying car, that the rear door would not unlock in cold weather (under 0c) at all, not even if you try to pull the lock by hand; this resulted in my 2yr old being hauled to his car seat from the front.. they wouldn't repair it, ignored my complaints completely, I gave up and bought a car starter to let the car heat up the locks before trying to open doors.

NOW it has been in the dealer shop for 2 days with a major 'electrical problem'. Started out getting the TCS light come on when driving for few minutes, not going off until car was shut off.

They diagnosed it, said it needed a new ABS module and it would cost me $1500. I left with the intention of going to new mechanic, get in car, now I have 3 lights on, ABS, TCS AND brake!! I called them back and was informed it "was obviously due to the fact I need a new module", despite never having seen these other 2 lights before!? hmmm.

I get a call from the service mgr the next day, offering to cover the cost of the part... they covered $1300 of it (guilty conscience or kindness, don't know, but wasn't supposed to be under warranty that I have)

I go to pick it up at 4pm that day, the guy comes out and tells me, it still has problem, something is wrong with my car and they don't know what?!?!

2 days later, still waiting, they know nothing yet, keep telling me they are still tracing wires.

I am so angry, and wish I could just dump that sucker on their lot and give up, but unfortunately, I'm in it for 5 years.

Lets see what they find out, and how much it's gonna cost!
