"A reliable and efficient cruiser"

What things have gone wrong with the car?

The undersized brakes have a soft pedal & wear quickly.

I recently spent $800 Cdn. to replace the rear drums, 2 lines, & machine the front rotors.

Rusted out rear quarter panels.

But it's common, a rust check helped stop the problem.

General comments?

The car is great.

It's extremely reliable, & comfortable.

It lacks power, & can do with 20 more horses.

But on the flip side, it offers reasonable fuel economy, as long as it's tuned up (watch the carb!!!).

The 5 speed is a must if you want to get this car moving at a respectable pace.

It's also a reasonably smooth gearbox, with some slight resistance in 1st & 2nd.

It rides great, & is an amazing long distance cruiser. Loads of room up front.

The only thing is that if the driver & passenger are both over 6ft., the rear passengers will not be amused.

It's better not to have the optional A/C

with the LX, since it will rob too many of its precious horses.

The only complaint about the heating is that it is weak, & the defogger takes forever to heat up. Especially with our Canadian winters.

These cars will last forever, even with low maintenance.

Awesome car. I have a 300k mile Honda Accord LX-i 4 door maroon with tan interior I bought in college. It has original paint, engine, transmission in it and it does go to 120mph when I want to, but I don't take it above 65mph to keep it going. It is still smooth and nice. Interior is still intact.

To see what has happened to the new Accords brings tears to my eyes. Why do the new Accords and the Chevy Malibu have same interior materials... What a waste...
