2003 Honda Accord EX-L review from North America
"Don't ignore squeaking clutch pedal!"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Watch out for squeaking clutch pedal.
Clutch and clutch bearing worn out.
Manual shifter is a little notchy.
Broken trim around seat controls.
Leather starting to wear.
Seat rocks from side to side sometimes.
General comments?
Thought the manual transmission would be bulletproof, but not so lucky. Squeaking clutch pedal requires changing the slave cylinder - don't ignore it! Eventually leads to complete clutch replacement. TSB has been issued but the dealer will make you pay the whole shot - unless you're still under the warranty mileage. Dealer quoted $3,000 for new clutch and pressure plate. Had it done for less than half that at independent shop using Honda parts. Remember when Hondas never needed repairs? Those days are gone.
