1995 Honda Accord DX Sedan review from North America
"An underpowered money pit"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Windshield leaked at 5k.
Transmission had to be rebuilt at 40k.
Transmission lines leaked at 45k miles
Ignition switch at 70k.
Fuel tails had to be replaced.
Front seat brackets replaced.
Brake boost assist failed
Master cylinder failed
Transmission mount broke
I have had various blown fuses that take out the gauges and A/C controls. The dealership has not been able to identify.
Two days ago the car stalled at an intersection and won't re-start. I think it is the coil pack or computer.
General comments?
This car has been a garage queen since it was new. Most of the repairs were covered under warranty, but with months of lost time while in the shop.
The car has great looks but very poor performance, I will definitely buy from a different company. I don't feel like I can trust Honda again.
The dealerships have generally been less than helpful. Many of these problems they said were normal the first time or two that I had the car to the shop. Only after significant browbeating and
repeated visits have they magically "found" several of the problems (leak, ignition, electrical). Each visit costs me several days without transportation and I think they hope I'll just give up.
I have been to approximately six different dealerships and have only had good luck with two.
