2000 Honda Accord LX SEDAN from North America - Comments

"A sad and sorry excuse for a modern car"

What things have gone wrong with the car?

It's more like what HASN'T gone wrong with the car.

Transmission went out at 20,000 miles.

Both CV joints broke, leaked, and burnt up at 18,000 miles.

Head gasket at 15,500 miles.

Slow acceleration for a V6.

Replacement transmission shuddered and jerked when down-shifting.

This car built like a soda can, it dents very easily.

General comments?

Overall, I am very dissatisfied with the quality, performance, fit and finish and especially the dealer service. My Cadillac Fleetwood went 120,000 miles with hardly a peep of trouble. Cadillac, now that's a real automaker. I will never be fooled into buying a Honda again.

Hmm I was not aware that there WAS an LX with a V6 engine. Makes me wonder about that review.

Yes, there was an LX V6 model Accord available in 2000, and you can still get an LX V6 today. I love it, every time someone on this site has had even the slightest problem with their Honda or Toyota, it is automatically assumed that the review is "bogus". While reliability on these cars is generally good, they are machines, folks. Just like any other car out there. They're not perfect!

Hmm.. Sounds like you took that car and made a beating out of it. Casket, joints, burnt up? Do you abuse your car by any chance? Because those things are rare on Hondas. Hmm...
