I currently have approx. 45000 miles. Had oil leak on the trans. @ 22,000mi, plus had brake pads replaced at the same time. At 40000 miles. Just dropped off the car to dealer again because of the Trans. leak. Dealer said there are no leakage!!
Bunch of baloney!!
Basically I hate driving V6 hondas.
I do not like the way it brakes. (nose diving every time which make it hard to drive smoothly). Brakes need to replace frequently. Transmission just shifts horrible which make me feel: where does 200 hp came from?? To me, I feel that I'm paying the maitenence cost more frequenlty on Hondas than my old Ford.
Would not recommend /will not buy Hondas again. "Hondas Reliabilities come from frequent maintenances".
Terrible Transmission for V6
Engine are placed too much to the front which create nose diving effect when brake (bad designed)
Horrible brakes
Boring looks
Noisy (need more insulation)
This sounds like an illiterate Ford employee. Note the last car owned was a Taurus. I'm suspicious of Honda bashing like this. I've never met anyone who had an opinion of the Accord like this - nor the Taurus, either.
40,000 miles and my Motor Mount snapped on my Accord! Transmision does not shift smooth either. I just bought it not too long ago.
I have a 2001 Accord V-6 3.0L VTEC. We got the car new and before the car got 24,000-miles on it the engine failed. It started making a knocking sound, which my wife first noticed as I started the car up at the car wash. Honda placed a new engine in the car at no cost to us. The cause of the failure was a cracked engine sleeve. The car never overheated or was abused in anyway. It was always serviced at Honda. Problems do occur, I would tell this guy to record any problems and make them known to the dealership at once. That way they will be on file and if it does break after the warranty is up, then they might pay. Otherwise our accord has been problem free.
This review sounds like it's by some dumb 16 year old who'se daddy bought this car for him, and having no appretiation for the car since he likely didn't earn it, he's been hard on the brakes and accelerator. I just recently got one of these cars and have NONE of the problems you describe here. The brakes are fine, and the acceleration is fine... Maybe if you stopped trying to race everyone off the stop lights and take it easy on the break, you wouldn't have so many issues with this car.
I tend to agree with the last person. Anyone who has nose dives when he brakes is obviously driving too fast and doesn't really know the ins and outs of driving correctly. I drive a big rig, and when I exit it and get into my Honda Accord EX I am nothing more than amazed at how well it drives, brakes and handles. I also have a Honda 2 stroke weed eater and a Honda generator they never fail. plain and simply Honda knows how to make motors. They also excel in all other areas of thier businesses. I have to admit though, I have a 2002 Yamaha Roadstar Warrior. Don't like their bikes.
Christopher J. Callagher.
After driving a big rig, no wonder you think the Honda drives so well. Why burst your bubble, you're the happiest man alive! My weed-eater is an Echo and it has never failed. My generator uses a Briggs & Stratton engine and it has never failed. What's your point?
2006 Accord: Bought new... returned to the dealer 2 weeks after purchase due to water leaks around the windshield. One month later, the alternator developed a bearing problem causing it to break my fan belt. Car refuses to start when it is very hot... so I wait until it cools down to start it. I bought this Honda because my 2004 Camry blew its engine due to a sludge problem that Toyota is covering up (like all the other problems with their cars). It GM for me.
