1988 Honda Accord LX review from North America
"A truly terrific little car"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Not a whole lot. Had to change the oil on a regular basis, but that's a given. When I got it it needed some new tires which I replaced soon after.
General comments?
The performance of this vehicle is nothing to write home about. It's small 4-cylinder engine was geared for transportation as opposed to being a race car, which some people don't understand. The interior is mint, except for a small cigarette burn in the back seat and a torn steering wheel plastic piece which I taped back on. The car is just downright fantastic! It accomodates my 6'4, 290lb frame easily. The 5-speed manual is a great trans and makes the car fun to drive. The fuel economy on the car is pretty good at around 25mpg, give or take. I have put about 27,000 miles on it since it was purchased 6/2000. I am just starting to notice a little rust around the passenger side wheel well, but I could care less as it has not yet infested the car. The comfort and design was great at it's time as well as in today's standards. The only thing I don't like is the fact that there is too much plastic inside and out, and the girls don't dig it. But I guess you can't have everything right?
