"It looks good, but has a poor engine"

What things have gone wrong with the car?

The first thing that happened to the car was it began to stall while idling.

I brought it to a Honda specialist to fix it. I had some vacuum leaks fixed and a PVC valve replaced which cost me about $100. Then it began to stall again and the battery would die. I had it looked at again and discovered that the alternator was bad. So that was replaced. I figured everything was all

right after that. Then it would not start.

General comments?

This car looks good on the outside and the engine looks good, but it has so many mechanical problems.

I don't know when it's going to ever work right again.

My Honda has the same problem. The idle is low, then it dies. It is being fixed now, hopefully the same won't happen to me! Overall I like the car, very speedy for its age.

I have a 1985 LX that rattles (shakes) while stopped at light. I have to put it in neutral to make it stop or turn on the AC, does anyone know how to fix this problem? Love this car and I could be on that chocolate milk commercial with all the shaking.

Help!!!

I have a 1986 Honda Accord LXi that my parents have given me and I absolutely love the car! It has 372,000 miles on the origional engine and it is still going. My only problem with the car is that when I pull up to a stop light it runs fine, but when I let out the clutch to start going it begins to sputter and acts like it is going to die. After a little while it just starts running right again and then it is o.k. I have replaced several parts which include the EGR valve and the vacuum switch and it still keeps doing it! Does anyone have any suggestions about what could be wrong with my car? Rich C.

I live in the UK and have a 1986 Honda Accord EXi, I got this car free from a friend who was going to scrap it after getting a new car.I've always known Honda's to be reliable having owned a Legend before, but didn't think much of the bland looking Accord, however I have been very suprised at how fast, and well it handles.

I too developed erratic idling and stalling, but tracked it down to low coolant which stopped on top-up.The only thing that will sadly kill this great car is rust which has taken grip.
