The front CV joints were bad when I purchased the car - $250.
The power antenna was bent, so I had to buy a whole new unit - $50.
Oil is dripping (minor) from the rear main seal, according to the local auto shop - $500 they're not getting.
The automatic transmission shifts kind of hard - $??
The car has unreasonably slow acceleration under 2,000 RPMs. I don't know if it is because of the fuel injectors or the engine timing. It is also the reason I get poor gas mileage. I only get about 250 miles per tank, but the tank is 17.9 gallons! According to other reviews at 30miles per gallon, I should be getting 500 miles per tank! It WILL be getting fixed this Christmas.
For a car that is 10 years old, I think that I am very lucky to have such a reliable car. These problems are minor when you consider the age.
Even though I have only had this car for four months, I am extremely pleased with this automobile and I would buy another one in a heartbeat!
Honda's are probably the most reliable cars on the road today, and they will be receiving my business in the future.
As for your transmission, its shifting hard because it's getting old and tired. I'd be willing to bet it is also starting to "scream" and getting louder. Nothing to worry about just yet. Just about every Automatic Honda at that age starts to shift hard and scream. Its the way Honda designed it. It may sound horrible and give you whiplash, but it will last much much longer.
I love my honda. She's my girl. I have had it for 6 months. It is so reliable. It has even lived through a car accident!
I wouldn't trade it for any other car. It is 12 years old and shes still got the juice to go 110. I love My Honda!
