1987 Honda Accord LXi review from North America
"Needs some work, but is fun to drive"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Passenger side CV Joint broke. Replaced passenger side front axle.
Started to bottom out. Replaced front struts at 173000.
Has a bad vibration when braking.
"PGM-FI" light continuously come on.
Trouble starting. Engine will turn over and over, but won't start. Replaced the fuel filter hoping that it might help. It didn't.
Passenger side power window assembly won't stay together. Needs to be re-glued.
Driver side power window assembly wouldn't lift window. Replaced with junkyard parts. Works fine now.
2 of the 4 fuel injectors leak onto the intake manifold.
General comments?
The vibration when I slow down is a little worrying. I bought some lower ball joints to fix the problem before I realized that I had to take off the whole wheel assembly. I haven't done that yet.
I don't think that the previous owner did much preventative maintenance. I have started to replace filters and sensors.
In almost all cases the car runs well. Handles pretty well, but it sways a little to much for the way I drive it.
