1986 Honda Accord LX-i review from North America
"A very high quality yet economical machine"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Replaced the clutch myself (I'm not going to pay $800 to replace a $160 clutch on a $1200 car, the labor was worth it!). That was at 201,000 miles and that beast was the original clutch I replaced!
Replaced the thermostat and one warped rotor. All no more than $40.
A leak on the top of the passenger door from a bit of rust causes water to leak on the rear passenger floor. Soon to fix that problem.
Other than that, she has been running great!
General comments?
When I bought this car for $1200, I found the original owner was apparently the son of the vice-president of Michelin until they moved, then went onto the owner I bought it from who had it from 10th grade till the end of college without one problem except the timing chain being replaced. Since I have had this car, it has been a joy to drive. Being a teenager myself, I am surprised it has held up to the heavy foot all teenagers seem to have :). I highly recommend this vehicle. My next car will be a Honda without a doubt. Keep up the good work guys!
