1986 Honda Accord LXi review from North America
"An unappreciated, lively, loyal machine"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Windshield wiper combination switch failure at 200,000 miles.
Rear control arms failed at 180,000 miles.
Exhaust system failure at purchase and 35,000 - 50,000 subsequent miles.
Distributor/rotor/ignition wires constant service required.
Driver's side constant velocity joint failure at 210,000 miles.
Brake master cylinder failed at 200,000.
General comments?
This inexpensive vehicle has served it's purpose time and time. Mechanical and cosmetic failures can attributed to vehicle age and territory driven.
The big three can't produce an engine that is so worry free and takes so much abuse and neglect.
