1986 Honda Accord DX Hatchback review from North America
"A Cheap Versatile Sweetheart"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
I Just finished replacing two broken wheel cylinders, due to my own teenage driving flaws.
Came into my possession with water pump leaking and rattling.
Seats were found torn when car was purchased.
General comments?
Surprisingly, very little has gone wrong with her. After 130,000 miles, she still runs fast and furious through all the typical mundanities of city life.
The fiasco with the water pump ended
in a two week adventure with me eventually snapping the timing belt and shearing a nut off of the shaft pulley (lucky me).
Since then, This Honda has been a lot of fun! Acoustically, an aftermarket stereo is the only extra the car needed.
Definitely a good way to go for a kid's first car, willing to overlook cosmetics and put a little bit of basic T.L.C. into something.
