1989 Honda Accord sei review from North America
"It followed me home...I had to keep it!"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Replaced the oxygen sensor and struts. Purchased new tires and wheel alignment. The car is next to new condition. No signs of rust, as car was rust proofed when new. Took apart rear door panel, dry and clean. The bad news was had to replace leaky rad. I had the motor flushed, both for coolant and oil. Installed new plugs and wires, air filter, fuel filter and brake fluid. Car runs like new... no complaints yet!
General comments?
Overall appearance of design, car has remained not dated looking. Great on fuel, not bad on power. Car is fully loaded pwr. everything even leather seats. You can't exactly lay a strip of rubber down at the stop light. However this car is not intended for that purpose. It does have a sporty feel with decent power, and able to pass on the highway. Great trunk for size of car. Rear seats a relatively civil for tall adults.
Winter's are no problem! This car always starts. I'm talking -33 up here in Canada. Installed GM Delco battery (best battery for the money I feel).Heats cabin fairly quick when just at idle. Stable on ice and plows through snow great, if you have decent snow tires (I use Blizzacks). I've passed 4x4's safely, when in the mountains skiing. To sum it up, I feel I would only enjoy this car more if it was a 5-speed...oh well!
