1992 Honda Accord EX-R review from North America
"Great car, just be nice to it!"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Muffler and exhaust rusted off, causing the car to choke during low rpm acceleration.
Driver side window came off track, making a very unpleasant opening around the window, that causes wind noise and rain to get it.
Rear bumper clips rusted.
Fuel lines broke, causing a very major gas leak.
Air conditioning doesn't work.
Steering wheel jerks and shakes, even after getting an alignment.
Rust everywhere, but seeing the car has been through so many country roads over the years, it's expected.
General comments?
There haven't been any serious engine problems with this car since I first owned it, or since my family first got it when it was new.
This car can definitely handle long trips without fail.
A comfortable ride, and spacious interior.
As a first car for a young student, it's very economical, but you must be able to provide maintenance as soon as it's needed, and try not to drive it on roads it just cannot go on, or else it will slowly start to deteriorate to a point of no return!
It's lasted a long time, but of course, my negligence since taking it over has caused most of it's problems, otherwise, I'm sure it would go another 200,000 kms!
