1985 Honda Accord LX review from North America

I noticed that it shakes when sitting at a stoplight when in drive. However, if you turn the air conditioning on at high, this prevents the shakes.

At 99600 original miles after 18 years the radiator popped and head gasket needed to be replaced, as well as replacing radiator and the original hoses. This cost 1300 dollars which might have been better spent on a new car, but it was decided to repair it. The previous owner neglected to tell me that you need to religiously check the radiator and add coolant if necessary. If you get a car like this, pay particular attention to the cooling system (radiator, etc,) although I suppose that's true of any old car.

The orginal cassette deck had to be replaced.

You won't be happy in this car if you are a big person. I am six foot one and it's too small for me.

I don't think the rear seat folds down in the '85 so you can't put stuff in the trunk like a surfboard and have it fit in.

The interior stays nice for 18 years, but the fabric fades and tears easily.

The car does do well on the freeway between 60 and 80 mph, I always think it's fun to pass people driving 30,000 dollar cars, however, if you drive like this you will need to be careful to maintain it more frequently.

There are no airbags, so I would not say this car would be the first choice for a teen driver. Better for a careful person who drives to the shop every other Thursday and regularly services the car every six months.
