In the ten years I have owned my Accord, I have had few major repairs.
I had to replace the steering rack twice (but the first was a faulty install).
The brakes have required a good deal of attention. I have replaced the calipers at least once, and the rotors a few times.
The air conditioning and cruise control both quit around 100,000 miles.
These cars tend to rust around the rear wheel wells.
Otherwise, this has been an absolutely fantastic car. It has served me from high school, through college, and well into graduate school- and it still runs well. 20 years going strong, and mine just passed the Colorado emissions test again, even though she's a low-altitude car.
My car is no special case, either. Here in Colorado, I see other 1983 Accords on the road all the time. I was never ashamed to drive an old car, when it looked and ran like this one.
You'll have it for years to come too.. mines got 230k and still going strong.
