1996 Honda Accord EX review from North America
"It's paid for itself"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
The window stopped working at 90k. The door locks have started acting up at 100K.
Otherwise, only typical wear and tear.
Honda has a 150,000 mile warranty of some of the exhaust parts, so that made one repair easy.
General comments?
I wish Honda were more aggressive with newer creature comforts. For example, my 96 does not have remote access.
However, this car, knock on wood, at 116,000 miles is still humming like the day I bought it. Just recently I completed all the fluids flushed. And just changed the air filter; yes, that was dumb of me, and now my gas mileage is back on track. I've had all my maintenance including every oil change done at the dealership, so I was a little disappointed they didn't remind me. Parts and service is mostly inexpensive.
The car's wear and tear is average. I had an 1988 and traded it at 100K, but this one, I hope to keep for another 100K.
