Every thing, bad cylinders,
oil drinking and burning.
No power from the start,
can't pass other cars.
Oil pump.
Fuel pump.
Starting to rust already in some spots.
My Toyota I owned was just as bad if not worse.
I will never buy a under powered none -us car again.
A under powered noise making lemon.
The car sucked, the ride sucks.
I would rather ride a bike.
Honda cars have got to be the most overrated cars ever built. It seems that anyone who owns a Honda becomes a brainwashed Lemming, buying into the delusion that Hondas are defect free, never break down, and have better performance than any other make of car, especially those "unreliable American gas guzzlers". The automotive press consistently praise Honda products while overlooking their flaws, and do exactly the opposite to any domestic vehicles.
Boy, it's true. Hondas are definetely cheapo pieces of junk. They're pretty ugly too, in my opinion. Everybody says that these cars are good, but they must be paid to say that or something because they are really no good. My friend has a Honda with no dorhandles, no air vent levers, no nothin 'cause of the awful cheap plastic! And my uncle has a '88 ford with 400,000 miles on it and everything still intact. Never buy a Honda. They will cheat you out of your money.
Reading the 2 above comments, it is obvious to see the level of maturity of these people. "All Honda's are ugly"? Surely, there must be at least one that you might find nice looking? I'm a Japanese car fan, and will never drive anything else, but I'm mature enough to admit that there are many non-Japanese cars that look quite good.
Drove a friends 96 Accord LX Coupe for a week while he was out of town. I was very disappointed in that car. After hearing all the hype about Japp. cars and how good they are, this one sucked. I know 5th gear is the crusin gear, but some on, give it some umph to atleast pass people on a on a straight, flat part of a road. The handleing was also sloppy. Only thing I liked about it was the gas mileage (4 cylinder). I'll stick to my "American gas guzzler", Jeep any day (That's "Heep" to all of you anti-american car lovers). I agree with the first comment. ALl these people like Car & Driver blow off all of the defects of Japp. cars (yes, they have many), but will find any little flaw with an American car and rate it down. I can't tell you how many people I've seen with Honda's who are brainwashed into thinking they never have to do anything to it. Then when things start breaking they go "well it's a Honda, it shouldn't do this!!" Well, it did! Then there are those who say American cars take too much care and maintenance. Yes, they do. Personally, I like taking the time to keep my Jeep in good running condition. Someday I might need to get through a flooded underpass in order to get home and I know my Jeep can do it because I take very good care of it. There is something to be said for taking care of your car.
I have to agree with the above comments on the poor quality of Honda. I have a '95 Accord V6 and I can say out of the 10 cars I've owned, this is the biggest lemon I've owned (8 domestics and 2 Japanese; Isuzu and Honda). While it's fast and comfortable at cruising speeds, it's slow off the line. In 20,000 miles of ownership, I've had to replace the rotors three times (big $$$). I do drive hard, but have never had brake warping like this. Sometimes it starts, sometimes not. A few different mechanics and I have yet to find out why because it's intermittent. The tranny feels like it's going to drop out from the car when it shifts (why no V6 manual until 2004?). A friend owned a 2000 Civic (manual) that had many tranny problems when he owned it.
I don't care what the magazines say, there are better quality auto manufacturers out there. And yes, many better looking vehicles.
I've owned two Honda's;
1985 Prelude, 220,000 miles, still running when I sold with original engine and gearbox
1995 Accord, still own with 196,000 miles, original engine and auto transmission... not a squeak or rattle.. still drives like new.
And way better looking than a Camry or Ford that's dates back 10 years.
My 92 Civic has reached 306.000 km now, it starts everytime and it doesn't burn oil. One of the best cars I ever owned. (Had 11 cars)
In my opinion theres a certain quality feel over a Honda. My next car will probably also be a Honda.
Honda ARE great cars.
I own a '95 Honda Accord VTi, top car, it has everything.
All the luxury features, the looks, decent fuel economy as well as ample power. What's the need to speed anyway? We do have speed limit restrictions, so unless you want your licence taken away, you should follow it.
Honda are quality.
