Rear Suspension has been replaced due to strange creaking sounds.
Air conditioning failed at 4000 miles and has smelt foul since it's replacement.
Air mass filters replaced.
Alarm is the bain of my neighbouhood.
Battery continually runs down.
Alloy wheels have corroded.
The interior rattles to the point of being annoying.
It feels very light on the road and can be wind guided above certain speeds.
The looks which I thought good at the time of purchase are now starting to make the car look like an aging taxi.
The paint is of especially low quality, after going down the motorway a few times the bonnet appears to have been flayed, the rest of the simply looks tired even though it is professionally valeted each month.
My Vectra was better.
Next time I Will by something with real quality - something German.
Based on the so-called "Honda Reliability" I decided to replace my beloved 2001 Vauxhall Vectra SRi150.
If regrets could kill, I already would be dead!
Just like you (I think...) I was fooled by the so-called "Honda Reliability".
Oh sure it is reliable... Reliable enough to need a complete engine replacement at 12.000 miles.
Oh sure Hondas are reliable and Vectras are crap...
My Previous Vectra, maybe it had its annoying niggles, but no serious problems in two years of ownership.
Guess???
I WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER HONDA!
COME BACK VAUXHALL IS ALL FORGIVEN!!!
2003 Honda Accord from UK and Ireland.
Like the reviewer I also have owned a Vauxhall Vectra previously and was fooled by the so-called Honda Reliability; which in my opinion it is an overrated truth.
I am an unfortunate owner of an Opal Green 2003 Honda Accord 2.4i Executive Saloon.
I Have experienced several problems with my car, being some of them really serious given the age of the car(only 1 Year old).
The most serious problem, which I had with this Japanese Heap it was the Transmission replaced at 7.000 Miles. A Faulty Torque Converter, made the gear slips from its position and sometimes the car stalled because of this "gear slippage".
This was really annoying and quite dangerous, once the car stalled you practically lose the power steering. Also, every time the gear slipped the car jerked.
By the way, the Honda transmission is jerky and noisy while the Vauxhall Automatic Transmission was intelligent and smooth.
And by the way: I agree on what you actually said about the Vectra been better than the Accord.
I Owned a Graphite 2000 CDX 2.5 V6 24V Automatic Saloon an it was an excellent car! No problems (OK, few faults, but fortunately nothing major stuff) in three years of ownership.
I Thought, that buying this Honda I was doing a great deal and perhaps I would not miss the Vectra.
Boy I was wrong...
How I miss that Vauxhall.
Buying this Honda was an expensive and unreliable mistake.
THE HONDA ACCORD IS AN OVERHYPED AND OVERPRICED CAR!
HONDA RELIABILITY IS AN OVERRATED TRUTH!
DO NOT BUY A HONDA!
Well Said.
I Hired just for a month a 2004 Honda Accord Executive Saloon 2.4 Manual.
And in just a month I had more problems than my previous 2002 Ford Mondeo GhiaX 2.5 V6 Automatic Saloon.
Electrical faults, numerous rattles, knockings and other kind of noises, which the dealer was never able to find a solution for them.
The Ford was more reliable. Like everyone else, I just considered the Honda based on the good reputation of Reliable image and Superior quality.
But after owned one for just one month and experienced many little but really annoying faults that the dealer wouldn't care. This really put me off with Honda.
With regard to the Vauxhall Vectra.
I have owned a 2000 Vauxhall Vectra CD 2.0 16V Hatchback and it was a good and reliable car, despite some small problems. But the Mondeo was a superior car.
I Would buy another Vauxhall; Recently I was considering of buying the New Vauxhall Signum. But I decided to go for the Volkswagen Passat 4Motion 2.8 V6 Saloon.
The Volkswagen has been a very reliable car so far in past 4 Months of ownership.

I agree with the last comments on this car - it is a huge disappointment. I am on my second in 8 months! The first I rejected due to a number of faults: 1) Ignition cut-out, This happened at any speed and was completely random. Very nearly resulted in an accident on the motorway. My solicitor advised me the car was dangerous and should be rejected, which I did successfully. 2) Rattles here, there and everywhere. All door windows rattle incessantly. This fault has been reported on a number of web sites. The TSB that has now been issued to fix it does not work, as my replacement vehicle has the same exact fault even with the new seals. 3) Battery drained, probably as a result of unsuccessful attempts by the dealer to get ignition fixed.
I had a loan car (04 year) while replacement was on order - horrific vehicle. Everything rattled, including of course the door windows. The ride was rock hard (do not get 17" wheels with Yokohama tires!). Complete noise box.
Replacement vehicle - headlight and transformer fill with water - being replaced. Auto box has some weird shift patterns at low speeds and whines at certain speeds, rattles have returned to plague me.
Conclusion - this car has not been developed properly and flatters to deceive. Interior looks good, but soon rattles, some components are just plain poor. Buying this car will give you nothing, but frustration.
Advice - do not buy one. I've concluded that the Germans do it better, though they sure charge you for the privilege.
