Clock light cuts out at times.
Steering wheel audio controls don't work at times.
Good engine, good highway performer, smooth and powerful acceleration.
Handling good.
Fairly good on gas for a V6.
Good fit and finish inside, aside from some annoyances with the clock light and the steering wheel audio controls.
6 months follow-up: No major problems with the car. The steering-wheel mounted audio controls are a known problem to honda and they have a TSB for it, but I got my car out of warranty, and it's no big deal.
The clock light is more aggravating, but again not that important.
This car is great on highways and longer road trips, lots of pick up and passing power. As well, I really like its use of gas - more thrifty than my last car (ford taurus v6), and all this on regular (ie, non-premium) gas.
11 month follow-up (110,00km) : I was able to fix the light on the clock, it's an easy DIY, if you can replace the vanity lights, then you can replace the clock light. Instructions are easily googled, but you pull out the clock unit and change the bulb with a philips. The bulb at the dealer runs ~$6 CAD.
Accord still runs great.
16 months - so far so good. good performance all around still, very satisfied. minor things:
-interestingly, when I tried mid-grade fuel (at a different gas station than usual), the car started to stall at low-revs, which disappeared when I went back to regular. I suspect problems with gas quality rather than some sort of intolerance for mid-grade.
No added maintenance other than regular schedule.
4 years of ownership. 190000 km (original poster). The chk engine light lit up a few months ago with little performance change. Honda dealer analysis showed the EGV valve needed replacement ($400cdn). The brake light on the dash is starting to light on and off, again with little chg to performance. I'll check it one of these days...
Still overall satisfied. the engine/powertrain is performing well, and the honda still accelerates like a rocket and handles well. no other reliability issues aside from the above.
4.5 yrs of ownership and doing well. I replaced timing belt (regular maintenance). Dealer tried to upsell a water pump replacement at the same time, (not recommended by Honda) and I defered. We'll see who's right. Overall still satisfied with the Accord.
