2004 Honda Accord iCDTi review from UK and Ireland
"Great engine, pity about the noisy cabin!"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Consumed a lot of engine oil; didn't register on the dipstick after 5000 miles. Dealer topped up, will monitor!
Rattles in the interior; left-hand side between the dashboard and the windscreen. Dealer eased the rattling (but not fully)
Rubber window and door seals are noisy. Dealer sprayed silicon lubricant on seals which has reduced noise levels but this will need to be done regularly!
Note: This car is assembled in Japan, I didn't expect these type of basic faults!
General comments?
Road noise (tyre roar) is appalling!
Tyres: Michelin Pilot Primacy.
Multifunction steering wheel buttons are not back lit (very annoying at night)
Great handling, yet comfortable, good for long distance cruising!
New diesel engine is excellent, good economy, great performance (loads of torque @2000 rpm)
50+ mpg is achievable on long journeys.
Well equipped (executive spec)
