1992 Honda Accord LX review from North America
What things have gone wrong with the car?
CV joints pop.
Ball joints broke @189,000 miles.
Needed gas tank (normal Vermont rust)
Needed brake work 2 times in 6 months.
Needed clutch (due to a kid taking my car without asking and blowing it... slipped all the time)
Oil leaks everywhere (just cuz its old)
General comments?
I have loved this car. It has been probably the most reliable car I've ever owned... and I'm only 19. I've owned 6 cars so far because I work on them adding aftermarket parts. The accord is so much better than the civic in my opinion. I don't know how they do it- Honda makes such a good rig.
I would definitely recommend this car to anyone who is young and needs a reliable first car. Go for it if you find a good deal. The only thing about Honda is that you have to be careful of rust. There can be little on the exterior, but watch for those rear strut towers... -they can have holes and rust spots.
I have never changed the timing belt since I've had it (at 168k miles). Never! Probably should though... but selling the car soon and buying a 1995 Dodge Neon that I know for fact is reliable.
