1985 Honda Accord LX review from North America
"Not too bad"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
So far the clutch is starting to slip on me and I plan to take it in for repair ASAP....
Put new valve guide seals in because it was smoking big time when I first got it, now there's no smoke! :)..
Put new brakes on... the CV joints and boots are
A-OK, luckily don't have to worry about that for now..
The AC has a leak but I am not fixing that now that summer is about over, I'll save that for next year if I even have the car that long. I don't know.
One more annoying thing is my cruise control
won't work, I've looked over everything, don't know why but oh well.....
General comments?
I can't really complain about the car I have, for one I bought it from a tow yard as/is for $300 and I paid $105 for reg's and $50 to smog. No problems after putting new valve guide seals on it and what a job that was. I was about ready to blow the car up!!!!!!!!!
But now I really like my Honda, it runs great, is good on gas and gets me where I want go. Not too bad on power, I opened it out at a fast 111mph
to see what it could do, no more for me, at that speed it's too risky!!!
Rides nice and goes from 0-60mph in about 10/13 sec.. Not bad for a 1.8l 4 banger :) All stock, too clean body has been nicely kept up by the last owner's whoever they were.
Nice and clean on the inside too, they have put a new carpet in and it was done very nicely. Look's very nice for an 85, clean seats and dash look great..
No cracks from the sun or anything like that.
Tinted back and side windows, I love that and I have put my Rockford Fosgate system in, that is 2 RFG Amps, one 45.2 and 40.2 2 10inch RFG subs in a box bolted to the back of the back seat. 2 Sony and 2 Jenson 6x9's in the back deck and Pioneer speakers in both front doors along with a
Pioneer CD deck in my dash. Looks and sounds great, gets a lotta looks when I turn up the system, the strong bass and the clean high tones, it's a blast, I love it!....
But all in all, I would like to get something newer when the time is right and I can afford it... but for now that's my ride!!! :)
