1993 Honda Accord LX review from North America

I got the car for $1,500, of course I thought a good deal and I thought I would have the vehicle for A WHILE, as this is an infamous Honda... yeah right, a year later the transmission went at a sad 124,000 miles. Car was not abused, very well maintained, clean engine, passed inspection beautifully a few months ago. Also, the car would stall and shut off for no reason... great in the middle of traffic, (WITH a new battery, even mechanic couldnt figure out) this is in addition to the dying transmission. I'm thankful I avoided a would-be accident by rolling out of traffic and letting the sidewalk stop me. NOT FUN.

I guess its OK if you want to play a game of chance and hope you got the "good" transmission, plunk down some money. Because I could have had a serious accident when the car shut off on the highway (twice, and I just read other online reviews where the car did the same thing, also a friend's 90's Honda did the same thing) when it comes to something that dangerous, I think I will stick with Toyotas or something that has no horror stories attached. I am very dissapointed, almost lost my job because of the strange situations this car put me in. Also, car fogs up VERY fast... sometimes so bad de-fogger didn't work in time and I had to drive with my head stuck out the window to make sure I can pull out into traffic. I never thought I would consdier my Dad's old GM Buick Century more reliable than a Honda.
