Timing belt was replaced at 215,000 miles. According to Honda, it had not been replaced since its 90,000 mile service. This was done as general maintenance.
Replaced molding around the air conditioner panel and speedometer. It looked as if someone tried to get into the dash to fix the AC and did not know how to properly remove the panel. It is the previous owners fault for the damage.
Hydraulic clutch lines and pump were replaced, because they leaked and car would not shift properly.
Muffler finally fell off at 210,000 miles.
Nice little car. Very economical and very fun to drive. Very dependable; I drive 500 miles a week and it goes without complaints, even in sub-zero temperatures.
This Honda was built in Japan. May 1994.
This car is really a 94. Sometimes computers like to change numbers around, because I do remember entering in 1994 as the car's year.
This car is approaching 228,000 miles. So far in the 05/06 year, I have put on 23,000 miles. I expect to be at 237,000 by August and 250,000 by next June. No problems so far. Original clutch is showing its wear. Breaks are going out. I have a Cement block to keep car from rolling when parked. Brakes are legally safe, but parking break and rear brakes stick. Will replace them next week.
234,000 miles, still no problems!!!
I do not know how it does it, but I am getting 41 miles per gallon on the Highway (no a/c). Engine must be a little loose.
Just hit 240,000 miles!!!
244,000 miles. No problems except for damage that Honda did to the power antenna motor. They ran it through the wash with the antenna up and it was snapped off. Thankfully Honda replaced it for free and I got a 2006 Accord V6 to drive for a few days while they were fixing it. New tires at 241,000 miles.
Keep us updated! I'm considering buying one of these cars with high miles tomorrow because I have a 550/week commute like you and am pretty strapped for cash. I've heard of traveling salespeople putting 400,000 miles on them without problems, so I'm confident, but stories like this really make me feel good about this purchase.
I will hit 248,000 miles next week. I will be working with my local state government and driving back and forth from school and therefore I will be putting a lot of miles on my car. I have switched to synthetic oil and it runs flawlessly. Only problems that are mechanical is that the power steering does not like to work well when it is -10 degrees outside, but the car can still be driven and it starts no matter what. My dad says that this car runs better than our 1999 and 1997 Accords which also run pretty good, but have not been as bulletproof as my Accord.
250,000 miles has been attained--cruise control won't work when it is below 0--any suggestions? Cable? regulator? feedback would be nice..
253,800 miles! Nothing has gone wrong except for areas of rust by the top of the bumper. There is nothing attaching the bumper to the right side and a car wash yesterday pulled it out and broke the light and took some paint off. This car wash is a lot more intense than any other I have been to. Last year it ripped my Minnesota license plate right off the front of the car and bent it in half.
This car has found a happy new home with a Honda mechanic. The oil seals, valve cover gasket, timing belt, and oil pan seal was just done and has extended the life of this car past 260,000 miles. It should still be a fine car at 300k with the maintenance now done.
