1989 Honda Accord LX-i review from North America
"311K miles and still strong, need I say more?"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Radiator issues - had over heating issues
cracked the plastic piece on top and replaced it
recently replaced a bunch of hoses that would spring leaks one after another
thermometer still doesn't work right.
Lost 5th gear, then a year later lost 4th
had a new (old) tranny and clutch installed with a strange, by chance, lucky deal the following day.
CV joints, axle, batteries.
After sitting 6 months the fuel filter was bunk
a little cleaning and it worked.
Alternator replaced twice now I think
starter twice as well.
Driver window - electric - stripped, fixed, and now not quite perfect, but goes most of the way up.
Head light flip up fixtures broke, fairly easy rig up.
Shocks and struts are pretty shot.
A/C pump is no good
vent fans work sometimes.
Various electric issues with radio not working at times.
General comments?
Still gets 30-35 mpg
sounds good, runs good
pretty fast.
Made many long trips
across the country 5 or 6 times
without problems (except one bunk-alternator trip)
"Beast" is very reliable.
