1999 Honda Accord EX-VL review from North America
"She'll hit 200,000 in two years without a complaint"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Alternator went bad at 125,000 miles
bulbs burn out on dashboard, but are easier to replace then to cry over spilled milk.
Brakes and tires: just maintenance; no need to get mad because this car was not built by God.
Timing belt at 120,000 miles: maintenance.
General comments?
Very comfortable car, easy on gas, and pretty powerful. This car is no Corvette or Charger, but at least I can get good performance and still get 30 miles per gallon.
I have driven her to Michigan and Ohio twice and in the twin Cities metro area. I have put on about 30,000 miles a year since we bought her as a Certified used Honda.
I would recommend replacing the tranny fluid often or in my case about once a year so that the tranny does not go Odyssey on you. Because of this my transmission should at least make it to 200,000 miles until it starts to shift eratically.
