1994 Honda Civic LX Special Edition Sedan review from North America
"Can't kill these things- great economy"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Small rust holes almost 1" in diameter on both sides by the bottom corner of the rear doors.
Seat starting to show signs of small tear at the seam.
General comments?
I got a really good deal on this machine with 55,000 KM on it and only one previous owner. It is very quiet for it's age. and the engine is practically no maintenance other than oil and filter changes. Great gas mileage at around 45 MPG on the highway. The clutch has a nice precise feel to it and the shifting if very smooth. It hugs the road very nicely. The interior was designed well and has a good use of space without sacrificing quality. The paint looks good after 12 years of Canadian northern weather, which few hairline scratches caused by careless washing. The engine peppy around town and plenty sufficient for the highway, though begins to struggle on certain curvy inclines. An automatic transmission would not be recommended. I know friends who have put well over 300,000 kms on Civics and they keep going without a problem. Plus the price depreciation is fantastic.
