1995 Honda Civic DX Sedan review from North America

At 74,000 miles, had to get the ignition system replaced.

At around 70,000 miles, the weather stripping around the windows has started to fall off.

First off, I love this car.

I have a 1995 Honda Civic DX automatic with a 1.5 liter I-4 engine. It only has 102 Horsepower and 90 lb.ft. of torque. Even with such little car, the car is deceptively quick. Its great for in city driving because the small size makes it easy to navigate and parking is a breeze.

Also, it being a Honda, I get incredible gas mileage even when I drive my car like a maniac around town.

We've had the car since we bought it off the lot in 1995, and it has never done us wrong. The closest thing it's done to breaking down was having trouble starting. The mechanic said it was the ignition system so we had that replaced for a little under $500. Besides regular maintenance, that's about all we've spent on the car.

I haven't driven many other cars, but even without ABS, the brakes on this car are amazing. There is this two step braking procedure which I just love. You press the brake pedal down and after a while you hit resistance. Normally, I stop there and the car brakes wonderfully. When I need to brake hard, I just press down harder and the car still comes to a stop without sliding. This car has disc brakes in front, and drum brakes in back. However, honestly, I never found that to be a problem.

All in all, I love this car and it has never steered us wrong. I would recommend a Civic to anyone who is looking in the economy market right now. The only thing is I wish it had a tad more power.
