Its a great car...
Only thing I could complain about it the brakes. There very touchey, and will sometime brake harder then your wanting them it to.
This car is great! I think it freaking funny how you guys complain about replacing your trannys... Cause if you look at the pattern in all those reviews, you'll notice that between the 80,000 - 100,000 mile range is when all your guys trannys got messed up. You know what that tells me? TELLS ME THAT OUR WORLD IS FILLED WITH MORRONS!
Did you guys ever actually take care of the car? Theres a simple rule for ALL cars...
every 3,000 miles you get an oil change
-And-
every 10,000 miles you geta tune up
Its not that hard... If you do that I promise you the Honda Civic would last you up to at least 300,000 - 400,000 miles easy, and still have some life in it.
But stupid people like you take the whole "reliable" reputation that Honda has and twist it all around.
Its a very very reliable car as long as you take care of it!
You cant run a car 100,000 miles with a few oil changes and a tune up...
You should be thankful that the car got you that far.
The Honda Civic is a great car and no one should be affraid to buy one. You just gotta know that you have to take care of it is all.
Why would you perform a tune up on a car every ten thousand miles? that is the biggest waste of money I have ever heard of. most cars now are rated from the factory to go a hundred thousand without a major tuneup. there are people who take care of their cares then there is OVERKILL.
I bought a 2000 Honda Civic that had minimal maintenance up until 145,000 miles. When I bought it I had to do a tune up for the first time because it was missing, The muffler fell off when there was an explosion in the muffler from the missing cylinders, I also did the timing belt. Now I have 160,000 miles and I have had it almost 6 months.
