1990 Honda Civic DX review from North America

Head gasket and timing assembly at 163000 due to excessive abuse and previous owner's neglect of maintenance, burns a little bit of oil now at 191,000 miles, suspension shot due to neglect, brakes on second set, still good, new tranny at 140,000 due to letting 6 people learn to drive manual, which was a driveway job of 3 hours, replaced ORIGINAL clutch with tranny, just now starting to run a little rough because a tuneup is needed. interior still intact, though auto seatbelts are stiff sometimes (cold/humid weather), radio was bad when bought, but original speakers still kicking hard and clear, tailights burned out maybe 3 time until wiring fixed (relay or something), dashlights sometimes short out.

Very peppy car for a small engine sedan. Rust is a problem on 80s and early 90s hondas, especially rear of car, great mpg, even at 191,000 miles, about 40 on highway (fuel saver magnet helps, mpg is about 30-35 in town if driven easy, can smoke the tires even at stock 92 horsepower that is nowhere to be found under 3000 rpm, lightweight which translates into great handling for such a cheap car.
