Front brakes (discs and pads warped and worn out) @ 58,000 miles.
Exhaust backbox worn out @ 60,000 miles.
Gearbox syncromeshes worn out @ 60,000 miles.
Clutch burnt out @ 65,000 miles.
Engine O2 sensor malfunctioned @ 69,000 miles.
The handling is not far off perfection, but could do with a limited slip differential to kill understeer with moderate application of throttle.
Brakes are excellent. The car stops very quickly and lockup can be easily controlled.
Engine noise is nothing short of pure rev-head heaven, especially with aftermarket foam air filter.
Interior is functional, yet a tad gloomy
Exterior styling is not at all dated. Aftermarket alloy wheels are required to bring out the best in the looks.
As the owner of this car, I'd just like to add that the O2 sensor cost £212 to get changed!! What made it worse is that Honda (Two Mills, Ledsham) quoted me only £130 on the phone.
I was quoted in the region of £220 for an O2 sensor and was told that it was a 'Honda only' part. I did a quick search and found a brand new 'copy'. Cost: £60 including fitting.
It sounds like you like to be rough on your car. Burnt out clutch and brakes?? Only a problem if you can't lay off the brakes and gas.

Okay so I drive it enthusiastically! Where did you find that O2 sensor?
No offence, but your driving seems to be the problem.
Brakes do wear out after 60000 miles... also that isn't too bad.
Considering the fact that you say that you keep control when you lock the weels... it shows you kill your car.
As for clutch and trends... I just think you don't know how to drive.
I had one of them civics... tried to kill it... but it didn't wana die (it was my first car)
Excelent cars... but don't buy it thinking of the reliability... civics are the most abused cars in the market.
