"Easy and cheap to drive"

What things have gone wrong with the car?

Nothing.

General comments?

A nice looking car. Although nearly 8 years old and replaced by a futuristic looking model, the 'old' style Civic, still holds its own. It is a sleek looking car, particularly the 'hatchback' version

Reliable. I have had this car for over a year and only go under the bonnet to check the levels etc. I had the front pads replaced when I bought the car.

Cheap to run. I put 40 litres into the tank at one time, this fills the 1.4 and lasts me for approx 350 miles. OK, I don't tear around, but for me this is still cheap motoring.

Easy to drive. The clutch is light, the ESR steering is light, the engine is flexible enough to cruise in 5th gear from start to finish. Good all round view, perhaps my only criticism would be, you can't see the front of the bonnet - but that is by no means confined to this car

Very spacious. I brought this car back from Spain with half the contents of my house there. With the rear seats folded down, you can fit the kitchen sink in! There is plenty of room in the front and rear of the car, and still loads of room in the boot with the seats up.

Good factual review.

I agree with this review. A good friend of mine had this same generation Civic. I too like it better than the newer models.

Anyway she loved her Civic until one fateful night when it was parked in a lot beside a VW Cabriolet. The Cabriolet burst into flames and the fire soon engulfed my friend's Civic. It was a total loss.
