What things have gone wrong with the car?

Apart from an exhaust back-box replacement, nothing whatsoever.

General comments?

MacLaren F1 6.4l 640 BHP

BMW M3 Evo 3.2l 320 BHP

Honda Civic VTi 1.6l 160 BHP

All 100 BHP/l tuned mechanical marvels.

Get one.

Trust me.

I didn't buy my 1992 VTi before I read your review, but I totally agree with you. Only thing is, I want more power now!

CRX VTi 1993, love the electric roof. My comment, never under estimate the power of a Honda.

UK car, purchased with 56k on the clock, look forward to putting another 100k on it.

I too have a 1993 Civic VTI saloon. It's very quick, but for some reason not as quick as my mates which is standard like mine. Any ideas why? I've had it 2 months now.

I have had my Honda Civic VTI for about a year now and I am very impressed the only real problems I have had is with squeaky brakes. Extremely underestimated car I have put a new exhaust, wheels (16 inch) and air filter in and I can do all sorts of cars such as golf GTI's, RS2000 and 2L BMW's!! Very very good car.

I would like to know if the civic 1.6 vti is a lot quicker than a mk2 golf gti 16v.

Yes the vti kills the golf, I had no problems beating them with filter and exhaust as mod.

I ve had my 4 door Vti for 10 yrs now, its got 166000 miles on the clock, bog standard and tonight I had fun with a Clio v6 turbo going into maidstone through the twisty bits of the A229 with the clio behind me until the straight bit where his 252 bhp had the advantage. So it's a great car to pee off the more expensive motors.

I've gotta b16a2 Civic hatch, and I'm impressed. Gotta full stainless and cold air feed filter, Mugen chipped ecu revs to 9500rpm and fully adjustables 17s and she's amazing. I've kept up with 200SXs running 300hp! Unbelievable I know, only to 100mph, but still very good and reliable.

They're about the same.

Except the Civic is faster due to an extra 30hp or so.

They are about the same power, both around 150 bhp, except the golf has lots more torque from its 2.0 engine. Only the japanese domestic civics are 160 bhp, and the GTI 16v is not 130 bhp, its 150.
