1990 Honda Civic Si review from North America
"It's a tank, but comfier"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Water pump failed.
Starter failed.
Alternator failed.
Exhaust system has fallen apart on two separate occasions.
A few random electrical problems, especially during wet weather.
General comments?
Have driven the living heck out of this car, including two cross country trips (one towing a U-Haul after getting the hitch welded onto the back) and it's always inspired confidence.
With 173k miles it's not nearly as peppy as it once was, but I guess that's to be expected.
Still on the original clutch, if you can believe *that*. Of course I don't drive like a maniac. :)
I'll forever be faithful to Honda after experiencing this car's rock-solid nature for the past 10 years in jungle-like humidity (St. Louis), brutal winters (Toledo) and arid, sweltering desert (Tucson).
