1991 Honda Civic 16i-16 review from Netherlands
"A high performance bargain"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Replaced rusted through radiator at just over 200k (km's).
At same time almost rusted through exhaust was replaced.
Over the years regular maintenance (about) every 10k including replacing timing belt twice (every 100k).
General comments?
This car has been a blast to drive ever since I got it. It boosts 135 hp and has stiffer suspension and different gearing than a "normal" Civic (all factory standard). This car/engine combination was not sold in The Netherlands, but I bought it taxfree in Belgium after a prolonged stay in the US.
I still let the engine "really" run once in a while, especially when I am faced with some BMW with tires way too wide next to me at a redlight.
What amazes me a lot is the fact that such a "tuned" engine would keep running, and still does, without any problems for 200k+.
