No mechanical problems whatsoever. Just had to replace a grommit on the strut for the rear hatch for the window after the 3rd year of buying the car new.. BAHAHAHAHA $5 bux for a grommit and bolt for the rear hatch window. In 8 years Of owning the car. In the 8th year replaced the front brake pads in Feb, 2003. Just the fronts. The rears were fine. And the rears were still good. My mechanic says there self adjusting brakes. Right ON!. The factory battery gave up after 7 years. Bahahah!! Nothing bad to say about this car.!!
Ever sense I have made that decision. I buy new cars only when I want a new car. Not being forced due to buying a lemon. Like a lot of american cars. Even though I think the ford trucks are good which my truck has given me little to no problems besides the basic stuff. And its 13 years old. I ONLY BUY HONDA OR TOYOTA cars. Never dodge, chrystler, chevy, etc. I have bought a lemons in the past. I stay away from american cars. Mechanics hate me. They can't make any money off me, Sucking my pocket money dry. I have a Toyota Camry 216,000 miles. And I have only had to replace a alternator and battery and a radiator and a few rotors and a thermostat. About $500 in all. For the reliability of these vehicles. it is Unheard of from any american vehicle. I have owned them all through the years. And sense I bought these. We haven't seen a mechanic in years. Never any major repairs. Just things I can do in my garage. Never a head gasket or an engine or pistons. I just change the oil every 3,000 miles and tune them up every 30,000 miles. But the three vehicles I own are all in the top most stolen. There stolen for a reason. There reliable and In demand.
I agree with this poster 100%. I/we bought our 95 CX in Oct 94 and I have been the main driver since 96 (our oldest son drove in til then). I'd never owned a Honda, but most likely will again. It is our 4th car, 3 drivers now in the home, but it is my favorite.
Only problem is speedometer sometimes does not work, but usually it does. Has 114000 miles on it, though I know there is more as the odometer does not work when the speedometer decides to not register.
Not much power, but I/we did not buy a race car, it gets the job done and it is used sometimes as a truck for it amazingly carries quite a bit when needed. I would recommend this car and maker, at least for the Civic to anyone.
