I own a 2001 Honda Civic LX.
The car cuts off with no warning.
After driving for about 50 minutes.
Rubber seal on front roof is detaching.
Echoing sounds from back windows.
Seat and boot locks inside not working.
Interior light color easily damaged.
I travel long distances from my home so
I bought a Honda Civic for reliability.
Fuel savings was another reason for
buying a Civic.
Three weeks after a regular service,
my car began to stop whilst driving.
The warranty expired seven months and
I still owe the Bank.
This is my third Honda car I owned, but
my first brand new Honda I purchased.
This car has disappointed me in
the service it gave me.
I never thought after two years,
I would experience a major problem.
The Honda Dealer informed me,
the crank sensor needed to be changed.
I am afraid to ask the cost.
I am afraid the car will shut off when
I am driving home in the night.
I am afraid when the part is changed,
it will not last a serviceable time.
For the amount of money I paid,
I should not be with these fears.
You have been unfortunate
We have a 1.6 Se Executive version in the U.K
and have had not problems
there are always a few cars in each batch made (doesn't matter
who the manufacturer is)
On my 2001 civic Ex, the check engine light was coming and staying ON for the past 2 days and at speeds at around 60 mph, car started to shake badly. I took it in and the Honda dealer replaced a “corroded crank sensor” - It is all fine now...
Cost: 479 USD.
