1995 Honda Civic LSi review from UK and Ireland
"Solid and reliable car, with reasonable performance too"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Legendary Honda reliability, so far nothing out of the ordinary has gone wrong with the car.
Front brake pads needed replacing due to normal wear and tear.
Only other niggle is a squeak from the clutch, however I think this is just a dry hydraulic piston pivot rather than any serious bearing wear.
General comments?
Nice looking car, with nice low chassis and good feel around corners.
Performance isn't bad for this size of car from only a 1.5 engine; really picks up from 3000+ rpm and revs to over 7000rpm however the engine is a little harsh sounding at higher revs.
Fuel economy is good around 40mpg and the engine doesn't use any oil; Honda engines seem well built and likely to run for many thousands of miles with no problems.
Grey interior is pretty characterless, but gets the job done and feels solid and free of rattles.
Overall I have really enjoyed owning this car and I think the Civic is a credit to Honda. I would happily buy another Honda, maybe one day I might get my hands on the Civic Type-R :-)
