"It's a wonderful, reliable car"

What things have gone wrong with the car?

My car had been wonderful, a complete delight to own. I purchased my Honda Civic EX the year the came out, 2001. The first problem began just about 1 1/2 months ago. The dealer thought the struts had blown out, both were replaced. Then the noise continued (knocking when going over a bump/the same). The dealer said the right strut had blown out again, it was replaced. The noise still continued. They changed a bushing. Need I repeat myself. Took it back, the dealer had my car for 2 weeks. They changed the struts (both) again and several right end parts. I got my car back on Dec. 4 with the same knocking noise. Now they're telling me the want to try to put the front end of a 2004.

The dealer has been great in trying to help us out, but I think the "Lemon Law" would be our next alternative. Has anyone else had the same noise/problem?

General comments?

I love my car, it's my first big buy. I really don't want to resort to the "Lemon Law" and give it up even though it would mean I would get another one.

I have a 2001 civic ex sedan and for the most part it is a very good car. Unfortunately like the other people I have had some of the same problems. I have the same noisy, clunky, front end feels loose problem that other people are experiencing. I also have the same rattles everywhere. I have taken it to the dealer and they also said that it was the front struts and they replaced them. I did unfortunatly I had to pay my deduct from my warranty. I also have the same problem with the front brakes on cold mornings and not so cold mornings here in LA that make click noises when I first hit the brakes moving forward. If anyone has more info on the lemon law pls e-mail me derekvonb@yahoo thanks.

I have had similar results with my Civic. A 2002 EX Sedan. I lost both front struts, but the knocking was not coming from the struts, but a defective steering rack. It took lawyers and 18 months to get Honda to agree to fix it. After new struts and a steering rack, the noises are gone.
