"A great car for a cheap cost"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
The thermal resistor on the interior heating fan went soon after I got the car. The car was in storage for 2 years before I bought it, and mice had built a nest in the heating ducts. I had to take the underside of the dash apart and clean out the fan and ducts.
General comments?
I put on a passenger side rear view mirror because the car didn't come with one. That was $50 with shipping.
I installed a CD player, new front speakers in the door because they were water damaged. I also hooked up some 6X9 speakers in the trunk in boxes.
For not knowing much about cars, I've done most of the maintenance myself, except for the new tires. I've changed the oil twice and did the work myself. The car is set up to make it easy to repair/customize, except for removing the oil filter.
The car rides like new, even though its 15 years old. I purchased it for $1500. With the improvements, minor repairs, and general maintenance (oil changes and tires), I have put only $300 total in the car. For my first car, it's a great value. I get 35-40 miles per gallon depending on city or highway driving. The best part is that it only costs me around $15 to fill the tank, which is great for a college student.
