When I got my 2001 Civic I thought I would have it for ten years. I had only heard good things about them. However, now, after three years I have had continued problems with the front end, and transmission, and driving in rain. I feel like I need to dump this car as soon as possible - and it only has 41,000K.
At 21000 miles I had to have both struts and springs replaced in the front end. They had blown out all their oil. 20,000 miles later they feel the loose and noisy again, and after reading this page I'm going to have them checked ASAP.
The transmission is rough and sometimes hard to get into second.
The map light has stuck since the day I bought it.
I experience a loss of power when driving though puddles and a loud noise from the front of the car. I have brought it to the dealer three times and they "cannot recreate the noise" and "don't know what it is".
My first Honda will probably be my last!
Good on gas, poor on suspension, and noisy.
I totally agree with your comments. One of my struts is gone and it is now off of warranty. This is my first and last Honda as well. What a shame... They were great in the 80's. I'm going back to Toyota.
