1999 Honda Civic Si review from North America
"Reliable performance guaranteed!"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
The CD Player stopped working at around 35,000 miles. The dealer replaced it under warranty. It tried to die again, but I used a CD Player Cleaning kit and it works fine now.
The Tachometer stopped working recently. On most cars it is no big deal, but on this car it takes away much of the fun in driving it.
No other problems...
General comments?
This car is great! The VTEC Engine always has loads of power when you need it. Cornering is great and few cars can keep up when you really step on it.
Reliability is out of this world. I am still on the original brake pads! The car still drives like it is brand new.
I just wish it had a 6-Speed transmission to go with the power! I am driving it in Europe now and it is sad to see all of the underpowered econoboxes cruising at 140 kph when I have to keep it at 130 kph to get any sort of fuel economy out of it!
