1988 Honda Civic DX Hatchback review from North America
"A true value regardless of age"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Passenger side cv boot was replaced at 200,000 miles.
Clutch was replaced at 180,000 miles.
Timing belt changed at 200,000 miles.
Other than normal maint., nothing ever went wrong with the car.
General comments?
Despite the high mileage and greuling 85 mile commute, the car drove excellantly.
I averaged 40mpg on the cheapest gas I could find.
It was great for the city, as well as long drives.
This year I traded it for a 2003 Si with eibach suspension and custom 17' wheels. Eventhough it is more powerful, I wish I kept my original civic hatch.
