1995 Honda Civic CX Hatchback review from North America

Nothing has gone wrong with this car in the 10 years we have owned it. Yes, we have had to replace the alternator (twice), as well as the head gasket and radiator, but overall our out-of-pocket money for repairs to this car has been minimal for its age and mileage. What has been repaired/replaced has been routine. We got almost 10 years out of the original battery!

This was our first "new" car, and we still love it as much today as we did when we first drove it off the lot a decade ago. It may be low to the ground and sound loud on the highway, but that's about the only negative thing we can say about this little tank. The gas mileage is great- we can get up to 600 km per tank on the highway, and 400 in the city (our other car, a 2001 Kia Rio, can't even get 325 km in the city!). This car has tons of space with the back seat folded down, and is great in the snow-- we call it our little ski-doo. Last week marked our 10th year of ownership, and coincidentally the odometer rolled over 200,000 km in the same week. This car runs like a charm, and I would reccoment it to anybody. It's just a shame that Honda discontinued it a few years ago. Hopefully, with increased pressure from GM and Toyota in the hatchback market, Honda will re-introduce the CX Hatchback. There's definitely still a market for it.
