1995 Honda Civic DX review from North America
"Great car, short life"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Late in the car's life we went through tires quickly, though this was b/c of lack of maintenance.
The awful roads of Houston, TX may have contributed to needing a new axle, cv joints, and a few sets of new brakes.
1995 Civics all have a problem with head gaskets warping, as a Honda specialist (not a dealer) told me. This will mean expensive ($1000 or so) repairs, if you think it's even worth it. Though I expected to have this car for four or five more years, it only made it 178,000 miles - every car that my parents have owned over the past 10 years has survived longer, including Fords and Oldsmobiles. Unfortunately, the days for your 95 Civic are numbered.
General comments?
The car, so long as it survived, was great. Highway mileage was excellent -once registered over 45 miles/gallon! A fun car - I can't wait to buy another one.
